Integrated Windows Authentication

The Integrated Windows Authentication can also be used with Firefox. The following settings have to be made:

• Enter about:config in the Firefox address field.
• Accept the warning message that appears.
• Search for the key network.negotiate-auth.
• In the entry network.negotiate-auth.trusted-uris the domains of the websites can be entered, where the Windows Authentication should be used. (Domains are separated by comma.)

Themes (also called Personas earlier)

As the daily work involves a lot of grey windows, it is nice that you can modify the layout of Firefox with Themes or the the so called Personas.

At http://www.getpersonas.com/ you can search for a Firefox background image that you like. When you hover with the mouse over a Theme it is tested how it looks like at your Firefox. When you click "add it", then it is applied.

Thematic (also called Persona Switcher earlier)

There are so many great Themes. Why can't we switch between our favourite layouts?

With the Add-On Thematic we can do this.

When you go to the settings for Thematic you can make the following decisions:

• Show the Themes in random order, and set the duration how long a Theme is shown.
• Show the Thematic menu in the main menu. There it is possible to set a specific Theme immediately and to alter the settings again.

SQLite Manager

(Regrettably no longer supported since Firefox 57!)

The SQLite Manager was a great Add-On to access SQLite databases. It is possible with it to perform queries and make inserts and updates in the SQL format.

In the meantime even the link to the old Add-On is no longer available. But I found a new Add-On with the same name here, but could not test it yet.

Adblock Plus

Adblock Plus is a great Add-On to get rid of nasty commercials while surfing through the internet.
